Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone. – Lisa Olivera.
About Emily
I’m a registered psychologist with an interest and expertise in trauma, and adjustment to major life experiences such as becoming a parent and spiritual emergencies.
My tertiary qualifications include degrees in psychology, arts (human rights and ethics) and integrated communications. I have three postgraduate qualifications, including two master’s degrees, and am currently a PhD student researching consumer/survivor movements in the mental health system. I’m passionate about this area because I recognise the wisdom that comes from peer experts with lived-experience of mental distress. I’ve published in international outlets including Oxford-University Press Textbook Understanding Human Communication, and regularly present at conferences including a Keynote presentation at The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Conference.
I’ve also done additional training in Internal Family Systems, Psychedelic-assisted therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Circle of Security parenting program, eco-therapy, culturally competency and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I love learning, and I learn the most from the strength and insight from the people I support.
I take an integrative approach to supporting people, which means I work closely with other healers and helping professionals in aligned fields. Healing takes many forms, and includes body, mind, spirit, community and environment. I’m passionate about providing a safe space for people to continue on their path towards transformation.
